Job Summary
The Centre for Migration Studies’ Senior Research Manager, works closely with the faculty Co-Directors to manage a diverse portfolio of research initiatives, administrative processes, programmatic activities, and funding related efforts. The role plays a critical part in advancing the Centre’s visibility, impact, and strategic priorities—both within the University and in the broader community—in a collaborative manner. Key responsibilities include: management and impact amplification of the Centre’s research programs and knowledge mobilization activities; outreach to and collaboration with faculty, students and units across UBC and with the Centre’s external partners; development and implementation of a financial sustainability strategy; advancement of equity, diversity, inclusion and decolonization within the Centre; supervising staff and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment; strategic planning, benchmarking, and performance tracking; oversight of budget and grant management and reporting processes; and coordination of the Graduate Certificate in Migration Studies, including student support. The position requires a highly organized, strategic, and collegial professional who thrives in a dynamic research environment and is committed to supporting migration-related scholarship, education, and engagement.
