CMS Affiliate Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows are invited to join a full-day writing retreat on Monday, October 26, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm in CK Choi 231.

Facilitated by Dr. María Cervantes-Macías, this is a chance to set aside uninterrupted time for writing alongside other CMS graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. We’ll use an evidence-based approach consisting of timed writing sessions, breaks throughout the day, and plenty of coffee and tea to keep us going. Lunch will be provided.

Full-day attendance is strongly encouraged; if your schedule does not allow, please attend for at least a 3-hour block to minimize disruptions.

Program

The day will start with brief introductions so everyone can share what they’re working on and goals for the retreat. During breaks, there will be time to chat, brainstorm ideas, and connect with others working on similar projects.

Please come with one writing project to focus on (e.g., course assignment, manuscript, dissertation chapter, fellowship application). The goal is to spend the day writing, so we encourage you to complete any background reading beforehand.
