Call for Abstracts: 2026 CMS Migration & Integration Conference

Submissions Closed

Abstract submissions for this call are now closed.

The UBC Centre for Migration Studies invites UBC Vancouver scholars to submit abstracts for the 2026 CMS Migration & Integration Conference, taking place on April 27, 2026, at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.

Supported by funding from the Migrant Integration in the Mid-21st Century: Bridging Divides research program, this conference brings together researchers from across disciplines to share new work on migration and integration. Concurrent panels will explore four thematic areas, alongside a dedicated panel on communicating migration research for impact. A semi-structured networking session will provide graduate students and early career scholars with opportunities to network and engage with others in their fields.

Proposal Themes

We encourage submissions that focus on the following themes:

  • Health and Well-Being
  • Employment and Lifelong Learning
  • Place and Infrastructure
  • Citizenship and Participation

A proposal may be valid for one or more themes. Please identify the main theme and secondary theme in the registration form.

Selection

Proposals will be selected based on the quality of the submitted abstract, its relevance to the conference theme, and complementarity with other submissions. Submissions will be adjudicated by members of the CMS research team. Successful applicants will present in-person at the conference on April 27, 2026.

Researchers don’t need to be affiliated and/or receiving funding from the Bridging Divides research program to submit their proposals.
