The School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics at Queen’s University Belfast, in partnership with the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of British Columbia, invites graduate students and faculty from all disciplines in migration studies to join a two-day conference, “Migration, Borders, and the Politics of Inclusion and Exclusion,” taking place June 15–16, 2025, in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
This conference focuses on research-in-progress, offering participants a supportive platform to present projects that are in development. Highlights include:
- Interdisciplinary discussions exploring migration, borders, and the dynamics of inclusion and exclusion.
- Tailored professional development sessions designed specifically for graduate students.
- Valuable networking opportunities to foster connections with peers and faculty.
This initiative is supported by funding from the Migrant Integration in the Mid-21st Century: Bridging Divides research program.
Funding Support
Funding is available to support 15 UBC participants, covering economy airfare and up to four nights of accommodation (June 13–16, 2025).
Funding Eligibility
Funding is exclusively available for UBC CMS affiliates. CMS affiliates at other universities are not eligible.

We welcome proposals that align with the conference theme, broadly defined. Submissions are due by January 10, 2025. The submission package requires the following information:

- Abstract (300 words max)
