CMS 2023-24 Annual Report Now Available

As the year comes to a close, it’s a time to look back, reflect on our journey, and celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together.

The 2023-24 year marked transformative achievements for CMS. Highlights include the appointment of Dr. Irene Bloemraad as President’s Excellence Chair in Global Migration and CMS Co-Director, elevating our research and public engagement impact. We introduced the Graduate Certificate in Migration Studies, launching in September 2024, to equip students with interdisciplinary migration expertise for diverse career paths.

Our inaugural CMS-Sector Research Collaborations Day fostered connections with the settlement sector, while a partnership with Hong Kong Baptist University brought global migration scholars together for our annual conference. We deepened our learning from Indigenous elders through the Weaving Workshop Series. Finally, the growth of the team has strengthened our capacity to advance interdisciplinary migration research in Canada and beyond, deepen community engagement, and amplify our policy influence.
