My research focuses on curriculum theories and curriculum design for newcomer students. Through analyzing the new curriculum in British Columbia and the core competencies, I am highlighting aspects of the curriculum that could facilitate or hinder the experiences of newcomer students. Furthermore, my analysis suggests different methodologies of teaching and curriculum design through adopting postcolonial and post-modern education theories.
