The movement of people to Canada has established a diversity of food systems and cultures. My research is interested in how these food systems are planned and governed and to what extent place-based movements (e.g. local food) reinforce and reproduce social inequities. By examining three case studies in BC, QB, and Hawaii of agricultural governance and migration I hope to contribute to broader goals of procedural justice and cultural inclusion.
