My research examines the intersection between political parties and immigration and multiculturalism policies.  I look at the different factors that influence the positions parties take, and the impact those positions have on policy.  I am particularly interested in the way that electoral systems shape parties’ responsiveness to immigrants and ethnic minorities and the way that mainstream parties respond to the emergence of far-right parties.
