I am interested in studying the history of “crimmigration” and the overlap between immigration and notions of criminality. Most of my work focuses on criminal justice trends in the United States. Currently, I am researching the use of criminal rhetoric and language employed by organizations like ICE to dehumanize migrants and the role that detention and carceral institutions play in immigration and border control.
