About

I am a PhD student in the Department of Educational Studies and IAR Fellow of the Institute of Asian Research, in the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs (SPPGA) of the UBC. My doctoral study focuses on the changing relationships of learning, work, and life within the contexts of neoliberalism and globalization. I am currently working on a narrative inquiry with the lived experiences of South Korean “millennial” leavers from “good workplaces.”

I (RA) have conducted a case study in partnership with S.U.C.C.E.S.S., a major immigrant services organization, in a  Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (2019-2020) Engagement Project, under the supervision of Dr. Shan (PI). Our team published an article “Fostering Diversity Work as Lifelong Learning: A Partnership Case Study with an Immigrant Services Organization” (2021, International Review of Education – Journal of Lifelong Learning). Our team extended this case study with Small Grants for Faculty-Graduate Student Research Collaboration of UBC Centre for Migration Studies (2021-current). Since 2019, I have been working as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Centre for Korean Research (CKR) at the UBC, mainly organizing the Visiting Scholar Program and the CKR seminar series. Some of them have been relevant to the topic of migration or the mobility of people.
