About

My research is broadly about the role of kinship and family structure on economic outcomes, including geographic and occupational mobility. Using historical US data, I have work that finds that a particular form of endogamy (first-cousin marriage) leads to reduced mobility. I am also studying the marriage patterns of US immigrants, and how those change across generations.
