Dorothee Leesing is a Sessional Lecturer at the CENES Department at the University of British Columbia. Her research revolves around the perception of restructured cityscapes. She is interested in the representation of urban environments and mass dwellings in early digital gaming, post-migrant literature, and press photography. She currently works on a research project funded by the IHRC transcribing, translating and digitizing letters of German POW in Japan during WWI and the topics around migration, colonization and prisoner of war narratives.
