Capri Kong is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia, where she also earned her M.A. and B.A. Honours. She is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Migration Studies at the UBC Centre for Migration Studies. Her doctoral research investigates the intersection of immigrant integration, social networks, public infrastructure, and societal cohesion, with a specific focus on the politics of belonging and national identity. As a mixed-methods researcher trained in advanced statistical analysis, quantitative modelling, and qualitative coding, Capri brings professional experiences from both the academic and government sectors. She previously served as a Senior Research Analyst for the Government of British Columbia (BC Stats), where she analysed interprovincial and international migration trends and population changes. Currently, she works as a Graduate Research Assistant under Dr. Sean Lauer, engaging in research projects related to social infrastructure and community building.
