Launched in early 2021, the CMS International Art Competition seeks to engage established and emerging artists in a dialogue about migration and mobility. Recognizing the vital role of art in deepening our understanding of these themes and shaping public narratives, the competition highlights how creative expression can illuminate the complexities of migration as a fundamental aspect of human life and history.
The 2024-25 competition is a collaboration between CMS and three of its research groups: Mobilities, Narratives, and Circulation: Africa and Its Diasporas. It is open to anyone and includes cash prizes in different categories.
