I am an opera scholar, studying the history, dissemination, and reception of nineteenth-century Italian and German opera. I am currently working on a book manuscript on opera networks and cultural exchange between Vienna and the Italian States in the first half of the nineteenth century. I am also interested in nineteenth-century opera singers, particularly touring prima donnas, and their role in mediating between different operatic traditions.
