Dr. Kashif Raza Receives Digital Pedagogy Lab Grant from UBC Edith Lando Virtual Learning Centre



Congratulations to CMS affiliate Dr. Kashif  Raza for receiving the Digital Pedagogy Lab Grant from UBC Edith Lando Virtual Learning Centre.

This grant will enable Dr. Raza to fund the “Digital Technology in Immigrant Training and Learning” project, which aims to explore and document the range of digital technologies used to enhance immigrants’ learning experiences in British Columbia. The project will also assess the effectiveness of these technologies, pedagogical methods, and program practices in improving language proficiency and other integration outcomes from the perspective of educators.


Dr. Kashif Raza is a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of British Columbia. His Postdoctoral research focuses on the work-integrated learning of skilled immigrants in Alberta and Canada. With a multidisciplinary background in education, law, and applied linguistics, Kashif’s research interests include education law, educational leadership in changing times, language policy, multilingualism in TESOL, transnational migration, and the South Asian diaspora in Canada.
