About
Shohei Takashima is an independent field researcher based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The work explores migration history, port-city memory, comparative community formation, and the relationship between culture, cities, and urban development. Through the long-term Star-Roads Projects initiative, he is especially interested in Japanese and Nikkei migration, local memory, and city-to-city comparative observation across Canada, Japan, Brazil, and other regions. The research engages migration and mobilities through historical, cultural, and urban perspectives, with attention to how movement, settlement, and belonging shape communities over time.
