CIC News is seeking freelance writers to write non-fiction stories about Canadian immigration.
We publish the following types of articles on our website:
- Analysis and opinion pieces on immigration policy from experts in the field. This could also include new research by master’s and PhD students.
- Feature stories, which may include third-person storytelling, practical “how-to” guides to help newcomers, or other articles that reveal something about the nature of immigration in Canada.
- Journalistic coverage of news-worthy events that affect immigrants.
- First-person stories told by immigrants, international students, and temporary foreign workers.
In your pitch, be sure to include which of these categories best describes your idea.
We like to see one, well-developed idea at a time. Tell us how your story will be of use to immigrants. If you are not sure, send us a pitch anyway.
