Are you savvy with Canva? A WordPress whiz? Can’t help but make smart appealing graphics for any presentation? Come work for us this term as a Communications GAA!
CMS is hiring a part-time Graduate Administrative Assistant to support our weekly emails, website, and other communication needs (primarily graphics, layout, and web support).
Dates: January – May 15, 2024
Compensation: $35/hr
Hours: average 6 hrs/week, but varies with project needs
Tasks: With guidance from CMS staff, you will help create and edit our promotional materials, Weekly Update, Quarterly Newsletter, and Annual Report, primarily using Canva and MailChimp. You will also make detailed changes and additions to our website (WordPress).
Requirements:
- You are a current UBC graduate student in any discipline.
- You have smart design skills, able to create appealing and effective graphics for event posters, web announcements, etc.
- You consistently pay attention to details and follow through on instructions, but also notice when things need attention and can make smart choices
- You’re comfortable with WordPress, Canva, and MailChimp – or able to demonstrate strong competence in similar tools, and willingness to learn these.
- You’re comfortable with a collaborative environment and honest (but friendly) feedback and direction.
- You’re a prompt and reliable communicator, and can be available via email during our 9am-5pm workday. (Not all the time! Just during agreed upon windows/schedules.)
