My research focuses on migration, citizenship, and gender and sexuality studies. I am currently researching the experiences of lesbian asylum seekers and their lawyers after the implementation of the 2017 Canadian SOGIESC legal guidelines. This research aims to critically analyze these guidelines to asses their impact and
aid lawyers and asylum seekers in their attempts to push for dignity, fairness, and cultural competence in asylum proceedings.
