Research
I study migration and refugee flows, the role of ethnic and racial boundaries in assimilation practices, and the daily lived experiences of racialized refugee and diasporic communities. I have conducted multiple research projects with immigrants/refugees from the Middle East, North and Sub-Saharan Africa. My work pays particular attention to the link between pre-and post-migration experiences as well as the broader transnational legacies that impact migration.
