About
My research primarily focuses on understanding the socio-economic and environmental factors driving migration, particularly in regions affected by climate change and economic disparities. By examining the impact of sea level rise and changes in agricultural productivity on the Southwestern Coastal Region of 2 of 4 Bangladesh, my work sheds light on how environmental changes influence migration patterns. This research is crucial for developing adaptive strategies and policies to manage migration flows effectively, ensuring the well-being of displaced populations and the sustainable development of affected regions. The interdisciplinary nature of my work, encompassing environmental sciences, anthropology, and policy analysis, aligns well with the Centre for Migration Studies’ commitment to understanding the complexities of migration and mobility.
