Dhriti (pronounced “Dree-tee”) is a PhD student in Political Science at the University of British Columbia. Her research centres on the politics of immigration, integration, and citizenship policymaking, with an emphasis on skilled migration. She is also deeply interested in diaspora politics and policymaking, with a regional focus on Canada and India. Under the supervision of Dr. Antje Ellermann, Dhriti aims to advance the study of comparative migration politics and policymaking in North America and beyond. She is a Graduate Research Assistant for the “Migrant Integration in the Mid-21st Century: Bridging Divides” research program funded by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund and is pursuing the UBC Graduate Certificate in Migration Studies. Before joining UBC as a doctoral student, Dhriti gained extensive professional experience in U.S. immigration law.
