About
I lead the Stigma and Resilience Among Vulnerable Youth Centre, a multidisciplinary research centre with collaborations across Canada and across the world. Our research focuses on marginalized young people and how their experiences of stigma, discrimination, violence and trauma influences their health, as well as what protective factors in environments, policies, programs and relationships help support them and improve health equity. The populations we focus on include 2SLGBTQ+ youth, Indigenous youth, racialized youth, those experiencing homelessness and/or government care, those who have been sexually exploited or trafficked, and migrant youth in all of these overlapping categories. We are part of the Bridging Divides research collaboration, and our focus is on migrant health and well-being, including how digital technologies can support migrant people’s health.
