About

My research examines the gendered dimensions of forced migration and resettlement, with a focus on how displacement shape the lived experiences of Afghan women and girls in Canada following the Taliban resurgence. I am also a research associate in the Social Dimensions of Health program at the University of Victoria, where I collaborate with MOSAIC to investigate the resettlement experiences of refugee men in Vancouver. As a PhD candidate at the Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of Ottawa, my work draws on intersectional, decolonial, and feminist migration studies to foreground migrant agency and critique Eurocentric and securitized approaches to migration governance. Across my projects, I center migrant voices and prioritize feminist methodologies that expose structural inequalities and challenge dominant narratives of belonging.
