About
My doctoral research is a narrative and arts-based inquiry about music participation (‘musicking’) among children and youth engaged in an after-school music program in Vancouver. Participants included parents and children from immigrant backgrounds. Drawing on my former training in anthropology, I am conducting this interdisciplinary research from the perspective of occupational science. My goal is to contribute new theoretical perspectives about both musicking and occupation that reach across disciplinary boundaries, and that are relevant to anyone interested in promoting wellbeing among immigrant children and their families.
