About

My research, as presented in my book Rayanos y Dominicanyorks engages with the literary representation of the transnational experiences of Dominicans, particularly those living along the Dominican-Haitian border (Rayanos) and those who have migrated to the United States (Dominicanyorks). I explore how historical, political, and economic factors shape migration patterns and the lived experiences of migrants, focusing on issues of identity, mobility, and belonging as presented in works of literature and other media.
