About

My research examines how screen-based media from Asia and the Asian diaspora help to constitute new identities and social imaginaries. Currently, I am working on a research-led, practice-based, and community-engaged project about the late Hong Kong singer, actor, and queer icon, Leslie Cheung, who migrated to and lived in Vancouver from 1990-1992. I am also exploring the creative and political possibilities opened up by Asian diasporic media production in the genres of speculative fiction and science fiction.
