Each year, the UBC Centre for Migration Studies, in partnership with a collaborating university, hosts its Research Conference on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. The conference invites submissions from faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate student affiliates of the CMS and its partner institution and includes an internationally recognized scholar as the keynote speaker.

2025 CMS Research Conference

The UBC Centre for Migration Studies, in collaboration with UBC Okanagan, is excited to announce the call for proposals for the 2025 CMS Research Conference! Taking place May 1-2, 2025, at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, this year’s conference will explore the theme “Migration, Mobilities, and Changing Political Landscapes.”

We welcome contributions from affliate researchers across disciplines to advance critical conversations on this timely topic.
