Our current research groups work within seven thematic areas: Borders, Climate Migration, Migration & Indigeneity, Mobilities, Narratives, and Political Membership.
Research groups meet to discuss work-in-progress and readings, apply for research grants and co-author work; organize conferences, graduate student roundtables, and webinars; network with scholars across North America, Europe, and Asia, and organize other public-facing initiatives such as an international arts competition and documentary film screening. Our research groups are open to all of our affiliates, including faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and community partners.
Borders
The Borders research group works on projects related to the governance of borders and the movements across them.
