About

I am a historical-political sociologist, and have previously worked at Leo Baeck Institute in London, USC Shoah Foundation and Jagiellonian University in Krakow. My areas of specialisation are nationalism, post-war Central and Eastern Europe and its borderlands, production of knowledge and memory, and political change.

Currently, my research explores the intersections of bio-politics and social mobilisation in the context of war in Ukraine, forced migration and broader political changes in Europe. Together with Professor Olena Morozova (UBC and V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University), we focus on issues related to women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, state policies and social practices, as well as emerging dimensions of political citizenship and experiences of war refugees and forced migrants in their particular socio-political settings.
