With a focus on contemporary literature and visual culture, my research examines 21st-century Haitian and Central American diasporic-border narratives. I consider migrants’ condition of (im)mobility in the Mexican borderlands through the dual lenses of Diaspora and Border Studies, and my project interrogates the state of suspended mobility that migrants confront due to a matrix of physical and legal structures.
