About

Although my primary area of studies and work revolves around healthcare policy,  I have a fair amount of experience and interest in diaspora engagement and migration. For about 2 years, I ran Germin Albania, one of the most reputable NGO’s in the Balkans, aiming at connecting the Albanian diaspora (Albanian, Kosovar, Albanian-Macedonian, Albanian-Montenegrin) to their homeland. In addition, I managed projects for Global Albanians Foundation, a crowdfunding platform which has raised close to $ 500,000 in the past 3 years, targeting the Albanian diaspora in the U.S.

While working for Germin Albania, I have implemented a variety of projects regarding the engagement of the Albanian diaspora members to the public institutions, namely to mention Engaging Diaspora Professionals funded by GIZ and feasibility studies such as The Research Expertise from the Academic Diaspora (READ) Fellowship Program, funded by the Albanian American Development Foundation and implemented by Institute of International Education (IIE). On the migration end, I have worked closely with Ilir Gedeshi, the leading Albanian scholar regarding migration, where I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of policy papers aimed at migration strategies.
