Abstract

How does the dominant North Atlantic conception of “immigrant integration” work to reproduce colonial and Eurocentric ideas of multi-racial progress? Adrian Favell presents his recent work in critical migration studies, which underlines how complacent mainstream conceptions of the field have contributed to the worsening of global inequalities and restrictive borders, amidst the exhaustion of liberal developmental models.
